Dr. Thom Rogers
Dr. Thom Rogers has been a naturopathic physician for 20 years. He is passionate about patient care, helping people recover from chronic illness, educating patients and other healthcare practitioners on how to achieve wellness.
He graduated from Bastyr University, an accredited naturopathic medical school known for it emphasis on rigorous science. Following graduation, Dr. Thom did a post graduate fellowship at Bastyr University and continued there as a faculty member teaching Orthopedics, Dermatology and Medical Procedures courses, and as a faculty supervisor at the Bastyr Patient Care Clinic.
In 2001 he went into private practice and had many senior mentors who helped him excel in the areas of environmental medicine, physical medicine, intravenous nutritional therapy, orthomolecular medicine, trigger point, joint, and musculoskeletal injection therapy, and minor surgery.
In 2003 he incorporated his first business and private practice “Whidbey Island Naturopathic” which he owned and operated with his wife and business partner, Dr. Alicia Rogers, ND.
Over the years, Dr. Thom has done intensive continuing education in endocrinology, bio-identical hormones and natural hormone balancing therapeutics.
A few of his practice fortes are dealing with patients who have hypothyroidism, adrenal fatigue, sleep disorders & seasonal affective disorder. He is also very fond of helping patients to recover from motor vehicle accents and sports injuries.
His practice also focuses on metabolic medicine, which includes treatment of cardio-metabolic disease: hypertension, coronary artery disease, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, high cholesterol, obesity and hypoglycemia.
Most recently, Dr. Thom has done intensive study and practice of cellular medicine and genetics.
Dr. Thom has been a meditation practitioner for over 29 years. He has studied with many teachers and is grateful for the lessons they have given him. He is known for his presence, intuition, and attentiveness during patient visits.
Dr. Thom’s philosophy on healthcare is based on Foundational Medicine. He assesses the health of each of his patients based on past medical history, genetics, diet, exercise, lifestyle, attitudes, and emotional life.
When Thom is not seeing patients he enjoys doing time with his family.
He has been an avid surfer since age 12 and this has been one of the most rewarding and deeply renewing experiences. Any water based activities bring him to life. He also enjoys community, dancing, gardening, travel, nutriton, and is an active in environmentalist.
